Do you ever get the feeling that there are just too many words in the world?

I do, and I think I need to power through that feeling. I've been mostly silent on social media for a couple of years now for a variety of reasons, and my old blog seemed so embarassingly out of date that I couldn't bring myself to try to refurbish it.

I am not a soccer player. I never played on a league or demonstrated any natural aptitude for the sport as a kid. I have a basic understanding of the game, but some of the finer points of the offside rule still escape me. I doubt I'm currently fit enough to play 90 minutes with an over-40 team.
