Starting Again

Do you ever get the feeling that there are just too many words in the world?

I do, and I think I need to power through that feeling. I've been mostly silent on social media for a couple of years now for a variety of reasons, and my old blog seemed so embarassingly out of date that I couldn't bring myself to try to refurbish it.

So here's a new start, with just a couple of ancient posts from the old blog that made me smile. I'm going to try to record my thoughts here instead of on Mastodon, Bluesky, Facebook, or Instagram. Like a lot of people, I'm increasingly saddened by the enshittification of these platforms (not you Mastodon, you're still cool... if a bit isolated). I'd like to follow the example of Cordy Doctorrow's Pluralistic, where things that he posts elsewhere are always available from a source that he controls, and are exposed with "good old internet" technologies like RSS.

It's good to be back, posting thoughts in my own humble-but-free corner of the internet. Apologies for the mess as I get this site into shape.
